Afira School of Wizardry
This school has flourishing fields and gardens tended by students who never made the cut to be given actual magical training but keep hoping their day will come. A three year contract is required to start and annual renewals after that period. Children can start as early as 12 and then perform drudging tasks until one of the staff notice a spark and elects to begin their training. From there on the mentor has the exclusive right to guide the content and pace of the training. Knowing that almost all will leave when they think they have learned enough, the training is always too slow since the student still buys training with labor and the teachers are loathe to give up good workers. Students often leave after gaining rudimentary knowledge in the hope that worldly experience will force the development of their talents. These students return periodically and pay handsomely for a brief period of advanced training or new spells.
